Hey, I'm back. Sorry about the delay. Been working on the spritely underpinnings of what will eventually be the new standalone Duck Tiles and Bulldozer engines. It'll look nice. Probably have another contest before long too. We'll see.

Met a nice fella in the chat room this weekend. He's with CanDoGames, and he's got a couple of really clever designs for his small-format games. First is Spaced Out, which is notable in that is has the most absurdly simple control scheme possible. It plays entirely with the space bar. And it actually works!

Next is Ball's Up, which is an interesting cross between Lunar Lander/Gravitar and a puzzle game. It's quite an interesting little game, and it's fun to play and looks great.

These games are a great example of the kind of thing you can do with Shockwave Director (and the Havoc Physics plug-in). I think these folks are gonna go far.

Next, I've got more eBay. Got a couple of items of interest to game developers.

Inside DirectX

Borland's Delphi 2

Write Your Own Programming Language Using C++

Palm Programming: The Authoritative Solution

Windows 98 Developer's Handbook

An absurdly old sprite library for Windows

Happy bidding!
