You might do better if you were to bother to actually tell us something about the game. What format for instance or what is good about it.

I bothered to actually create a site full of relevant information. Anything specific you would like to know, or are you just naturally belligerent?
Well, first, this is the wrong place to look for a distributor. Second, if you''re going to advertise that you''re looking for a distributor, tell people something about the game. With the description you have, I didn''t even care to look at your site.

No I am naturally helpful. Unfortunately you not only don't know how to sell your product but you don't understand when people try to help you by pointing out your mistakes.

Who cares if you went to the trouble of creating a site. It is just wasted effort if no one goes there. To get people to go there you need to tell them WHY they should go there. Try actually READING my post - you might realise that simple information like THE HARDWARE FORMAT would be worth providing. People are not going to go to some url and (possibly have to) search a site to find a game that may turn out to be on a format they don't even have.

Yes, the game looks decent. But it''s chess so the real question is "how good is the AI?" You''re competing against Chessmaster and other titles.

And being able to "sell" your product with a good attention getting blurb is important. The least you could do is "a href" the link so people don''t need to copy and paste it.

KalvinB - (to Jessika) do you accept Jesus as your lord and savior

Jessika - Sure I can accept all forms of payment.
My original post was designed to attract publishers, I never intended it as an advert to sell the game. I think it was in the most appropriate forum and the title should be enough to indicate my intentions. Therefore the people that actually read the post would potentially be publishers and interested enough to go to the url to find out more information.

Kalvins point about the url was well received. I did not realise that this board doesnt automatically create links from urls.

No the tone of your reply was clearly rude, as is this. I was concerned I was being oversensitive till..

Yup. Rude. Read my posts - notice the use of a non-confrontational tone and occasional pleasantry. I shall henceforth refer to you as ''rude man'', but I shall also address your points.

Since I wasn''t advertising for sales - and only wanted a small number of potential publishers to have a look - your points are moot.

Thanks. Actually the game can support many chess engines from novice to grandmaster. I dont think the strength of the AI is a selling point since even a weak engine can beat most players. I think having a variety of computer opponents that play differently should be ultimately more entertaining.

To show that I am not a bad sport, here''s a little blurb and a friendly link..

Chess Commander is a chess game for the PC that supports multiple computer opponents as well as network play and play-by-email.

Hopefully this is more palitable to rude man, whom I shall let have the last word - because I suspect it matters to him.
question: is this for the PDA, GBA, and/or PC?
also what are its system requirements?

(i take it these are things publishers would like to know at first glance. then take a look at the site for details and screenshots)

well, good luck. hope u find a publisher soon

I appologise for implying that you were lazy. I know see that you just didn't know how to sell your game (not an insult just a statement of fact expressed in a neutral tone).

Despite what you think you ARE advertising your product for sale. You are just selling it to publishers, not to the end user. If anything, what I was said previously applies ever more so to publishers than to members of the public. Most get hundreds of submissions directly to their desk, most of which are of no use. Most wont have the time or the will to follow a link without knowing what is at the end of it.
