opengl woes

alrite, ive been having some trouble lately with opengl, whenever i run ANY opengl based app, my computer locks up, is it time to replace ye olde riva tnt card? i havent installed any new applications that could be causing a conflict btw...
I noticed, before getting (upgrading) to my TNT 2 Ultra, that some of my newer (and some older) softwares graphics would corrupt or the software would freeze with my old TNT.
Maybe it is time to upgrade? Not had any problems like this with the TNT 2 though.
