Which do you think is better as a starter job, to work for a small company with a few published titles under their belt, but with lots of potential and combined experience? Or to work with a larger company with even more combined experience, and lots of published titles under their belt?

I would work with the people you like most, doing the games that sound most interesting - provided that they can convince you that they know how to run a business as well as make games.

The smaller company will give you the chance to take on more varied roles. The larger company will be more stable/structured allowing more focus. Personally I think the smaller company offers more chance of valuable/varied experience.
