extract and playing sound from AVI file

hi everyone!
i''m doing a sort of aviplayer in C language. i had no problems with video part but i have many problems with audio.
can anyone help me?

So this is a program that does it, or do you want to know how to do it manually?
Manually is basically: setting your recording properties to Wave/MP3 and recording (e.g. in Goldwave - goldwave.com) while playing the sound.
Ask and I''ll post my extensive tutorial on that.

well - surely the format specifications will tell you how to get at the audio?

i saw the site and i find something interesting about formats.
but i was searching some examples about it because i read the specifications of sdk libraries but they didnt help so much.
