Tutorials slow on Voodoo2 ..

A friend is using an ATI Rage II card with 4mb and a Voodoo2 on his Celeron 333mhz with 64mb RAM. DirectX apps run resonably quick but OpenGL runs terribly slow. He tells me he has all the newest drivers but I`m convinced Tutorial 7 should run better than 4fps! Any ideas?

I had the same problem with my voodoo2 card, and got the answer from this very message forum!

OpenGL will be using either the standard MS driver, or a replacement supplied with the RageII card.

To get the Voodoo card to handle graphics in openGl you need to copy the 3dfxvgl.dll file (it should be found in your windows/system folder) into the same folder as the app your wanting to run and then rename it to opengl32.dll

With the method Kev pointed out, OpenGL is fairy fast using voodoo2.

As for RageII, I would ignore such an old board for a new projects, and would consider Rage128 or later as an oldest ATI boards to support.
