3D-Tetris
Hmm, was thinking of writing a simple 3d-tetris game, but what should it look like?

This is somewhat what I was thinking of making it(looks really crappy I know but aschii art isnt my main thing
). But would it be to complicated for the user? You would have to spin around with the camera to spot where to put the pieces, but maybe it will be too hard to get a good overview of it... (I know it''s not the first attempt of making a 3d-tetris game in the history of gameprogramming)

I think it couldbe a good idea. To make things easier, the game could display vertical lines that show the fall direction of each block, and blocks with which it would collide could have a diferent color.
Thus, the user would see what he does.

Yeah, was thinking of making each layer of the blocks diffrent colors so that you can see the layers easier. Gonna do some testing... =)

There was already a 3d tetris game. I think it was called blockout. It wasn''t done how you wanted to do it, though--it used a top-down view so you could see a square (or rectangle, since the board was customizable) and the rows were color-coded and scaled so you could see how close you were to the top. A side bar also showed how many rows you had blocks on. I think it was shareware...if it is, and if I remember, I''ll upload a zip somewhere for you. It was a really fun game, although it needed more game modes.
Tried one of these 3d-''fuckups''-tetris'' once.
My advice... don''t bother. It never worked out. What''s the reason anyway???? Why do you want a game 3d? Just the sake of it?
If you do not have anything else to make, go ahead, but do not look at it as anything else but code training.
Good luck anyway...

I disagree with gocontact...I kind of liked the 3d tetris. It may just be a code exercise, but done right, with maybe some innovations, it could be fun.
