[SD] Overlaying two different view types acceptable?

This wasn't specifically mentioned as not being acceptable, but the whole contest seems geared towards two seperated views, which are not overlayed. Would a system where one view (Thermal, for example) was overlayed over a normal view be acceptable? I think that's clear enough :).

The problem is that if it's permanently overlaid over the whole view, then the two aren't distinguishable - you only have one view, the thermal view. What you could do, though, would be to draw the whole screen as regular view but overlay a thermal view over a rectangle in the center. That way you have one view around the outside and one view in the middle. (That said, you need to make sure that the outside region remains as useful as the inside one).
