Hi everybody - I'm a creative writer/comedian out of New York and I have been posting here in an attempt to create a wrestling game. You've probably seen it posted over in "Help Wanted" over the past year or so; I call it "Ultimate Wrestling Challenge" (the recentmost thread revival has the following address: http://www.gamedev.net/community/forums/topic.asp?topic_id=468589) At the moment, I pretty much have a basic outline and the starting angle which pretty much kicks off Career Mode, which I'd like to present here. I gladly welcome any helpful notes (either by PM or by email at GMGuity@yahoo.com) as I continue working towards making this game a reality. Image Hosted by ImageShack.us ULTIMATE WRESTLING CHALLENGE The United Wrestling Council is home to some of the world’s most incredible fighters. Grapplers, acrobats, brawlers and technical masters vie for championship accolades and the one prize greater than the UWC Heavyweight Championship of the World: The Grand Championship, decided in the Best of the Best Tournament at the biggest UWC event of the year: Ultimate Wrestling Challenge! THE UWC CHAMPIONSHIP ROSTER: UWC WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: “The Trojan General” Augustus Troy IV TOP CONTENDER: “The God of War” Ares UWC ALL-NATIONS CHAMPION: “Hometown Hero” Luke McCoy TOP CONTENDER: “Mister Destiny” Alistair Troy UWC TELEVISION CHAMPION: MANTIS TOP CONTENDER: “Lord of the Players” Johnny Mojo UWC WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: “Live & Direct” – (“Live” Omar Johnson/”Direct Hit” Javier Curtis) TOP CONTENDERS: “Raging Youth” – (Robbie Venom & Kid Vicious) IT ALL BEGAN AT UWC "ENDGAME"… “The Trojan General,” Augustus Troy IV – 25 year veteran, and one of the longest reigning World Champions in UWC history – is retiring. Upon learning this, the God of War, who was once lieutenant in Augustus’ infamous Trojan Elite, now his most heated rival, demanded a final confrontation with his former mentor. Having recently lost the All-Nations Championship to Luke McCoy, and before that, the Tag Team belts he shared with Mr. Black to “Live & Direct,” Ares was eager to prove that Troy could not keep the UWC’s top prize from him any longer. And so, the United Wrestling Council presented Endgame, it’s mid-year supercard – second only to Ultimate Wrestling Challenge, home of the Best of the Best Tournament – with a milestone match-up. For the World Heavyweight Championship: The Trojan General vs. The God of War, one last time. Ares wanted nothing more than to be the one who put the exclamation point on Troy’s storied career with “The Fallen Soldier,” his devastating one-armed power bomb. The champion himself had but one stipulation: whether the match was decided by countout, disqualification, stalemate or submission to his patented “Trojan Horse” finisher, if he retained the World title, he would be allowed one request. The undercard to this historic confrontation was nothing short of spectacular. The acrobatic Television Champion, MANTIS and his tag-team partner and fellow masked man, the powerhouse newcomer Max Gryphon defeated Johnny Mojo and his bodyguard, Rodney Bling. UWC Tag Team Champions “Live & Direct” came out on top of a twenty minute crowd-pleaser, defeating Raging Youth with their tandem finisher, “Rock the Mic.” Luke McCoy’s “Hometown Advantage” power-slam flattened “Mister Destiny” Alistair Troy and protected the Hometown Hero’s All-Nations Title. Though he fought valiantly, Diego Azteca fell to “The King of Darkness,” as Gabriel Black’s “Fall From Grace” chokeslam made a victim of the Shaman Warrior. Finally, it was time for the main event. Anticipation was high both in the arena and backstage. Though there was no emnity lost between the former partners, Mr. Black bid Ares good luck in the locker room. He definitely wanted Ares to win; he would relish taking the World Title from him, thus proving once and for all who the better of their team was, and who was responsible for the loss of their championships. Diego, McCoy and MANTIS were very curious as to the outcome. Having already defeated Ares for the All-Nations title three months prior, McCoy wondered if he would get a shot at the World Title as well, should the belt change hands. Gryphon kept to himself for the most part, being new to the Council and still unfamiliar with the other fighters. The World Champion, of course, had his own dressing room. The only other person allowed with him was his son Alistair, who would be offering guest commentary at ringside. The battle itself was more than anyone could’ve expected. Ares was determined to destroy his mentor as quickly and as decisively as possible, but the wily champion had other plans. He fought defensively. He fought methodically. He fought dirty. Augustus Troy had more than the title on the line, but his pride. After all, 25 years of accomplishment would mean nothing if he let himself be brutalized in his final match, with his son watching at ringside, no less. Troy attacked Ares’ lower back and legs whenever he could, that he might be able to cinch in the “Trojan Horse.” Ares countered with power moves designed to humiliate, dominate and incapacitate Augustus. The two fought on, each coming closer and closer with each near fall to putting an end to one of the most brutal – and entertaining – blood feuds in wrestling. Before anyone knew it, the 60 minute time limit was down to five. Each sensing the end bell was near, Ares turned on the offense while Augustus sought to run out the clock. A power slam resulted in a two count. A clothesline, two count. Ares even placed Troy in his own finisher, wrenching back on the champion’s knees and stretching his back. Troy held on for what felt like an eternity, and made his move. After all, if there was anyone who knew how to counter the Trojan Horse, it was him. He twisted and rolled forward, throwing Ares off balance into a pin. Still only two. Finally, Ares had decided that it was time. With fifteen seconds left, he grabbed Augustus and with great effort thanks to the Trojan General’s offensive strategy on his back and legs, hoisted him upon his shoulder. Sensing what was coming, at the last second Augustus used the momentum Ares generated and completely flipped himself over his opponent’s shoulder. Unfortunately, he hadn’t considered his proximity to the ring ropes, and throttled himself on the way down. His shoulders would’ve surely been counted for three, had the bell not rung just as Ares went for the lateral press. The time limit had expired. The match was over, and the fans were breathless. Augustus Troy IV had gone the distance with a monster almost half his age. “The Trojan General” came to his feet as Ares stared, seething at what he considered no less than the most humiliating defeat he would ever suffer, and departed the ring. He was halfway to the curtain when Augustus grabbed a microphone and asked Alistair to join him in the ring. He reminded the crowd and the viewers at home that as part of the deal he made with the UWC Board of Directors, that if he retained his championship that night, he would be granted one boon. Having survived the onslaught of his ungrateful former protégé, he was ready to cash in his favor. With that, he turned to his son, and shocked every living witness to that night’s events when he handed him the prized golden belt, and declared “Mister Destiny” the NEW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD! A wrestling legend’s final act of defiance turned the United Wrestling Council upside down. [Edited by - GMGuity on October 22, 2007 10:30:03 PM]
