DirectX Tutorials

Its sort of a bummer since 7.0 just came out and info on it seems to be lacking to some degree. Also IM has changed a bit (for the better, though) in this last revision, so work in 6.0 and RM is not entirely applicable. They posted a decent article on the new IM framework here on gamedev thats not too bad. I would also try the examples the MS has in the sdk (check out the d3dx tutorials and IM documentation). Its not particulary easy and you'll probably tear you're hair out at times but they are certainly good enough to get you going assuming you already have some 3d theory behind you. Good luck :-)

Does anybody know a site with real good DirectX tutorials?

All the online tutorials are now out of date. In fact you will stuggle to find any with DirectX 7 code. There are plenty of tutorials in the DX7 SDK though, and this should be your primary resource for DX info. If the 120MB download is beyond your connection speed you can order the DX7 SDK for $12 (US) on CD from Microsoft. It's got everything you need in it.
