d3dlight7 & attenuation problems

Hi everybody. I'm trying to use the range and the attenuation parameters in point lights int directx7, but i'm not getting the expected results. The SDK says:
"Many applications set the dvAttenuation1 member to 1.0 and the others to 0.0, resulting in light intensity that attenuates evenly over distance—from maximum intensity at the source, to zero intensity at the light's range."
Well, only dvAttenuation0 seems to work as expected, but setting dvAttenuation1 to 1.0 and the others to 0.0 results in a very very low light intensity. All this was working right with d3dlight2 and direcx6.
Any idea? thanks in advance.
