Mmorpg idea I had.

You play as either a benevolent or a malevolent Titans and must fight they opposing faction for control of many worlds ranging from futuristic to primitive. The main difference would be the scale. Your Titan would be 50 feet tall and the only places that would really be scaled to your size would be the capital cities. Every thing else would be tiny compared to you and instead of fighting single creatures or single soldiers, you would fight brigades of soldiers, demigods or other Titans(players). Instead of reputation you would gain praise or be feared even more. you would gain praise from doing things to help the inhabitants of that world, like killing the invading demons, killing another titan that is feared by them or something along those lines. To become feared by a world you would do something to inhibit the nature flow of a world, like assist in the destruction on a major city on the planet by an invading force of demons or killing a Titan that is praised by populations of that world. You would be able to gain both praise and fear on a planet, but whatever has the higher amount would determine how the inhabitants interact with you (drop all there belonging and run or give you a gift and thank you for helping them). Also, the amounts and the difference between them would determine the amount of "followers"(average people)/"worshipers"(fanatically good)/"cultists"(fanatically evil) you can accept (these would be a stat and wouldn't exist in the world). If the population of a world is very fearful of you and you have done a lot of stuff there, you would be able to accept a lot of cultists, on the other hand if they praise you a lot and you have done a lot of stuff there you will be able to accept lots of worshipers, but if you have spent lots of time doing stuff on the world but are not really hated or praised you will be able to accept lots of followers. You would also level and gain talents from leveling, but this would be only half as effective as other games for gaining benefits. The other half would come from gaining follows/worshipers/cultists. Of course there would be a cap on the amount of followers/worshipers/cultists you came have(this would scale with your level). The cultists/followers system would work like a talent tree that you can change between as you see fit. In other words, if you have a cap of 5000 cultists/worshipers/followers you could choose to accept 1000 cultists from one world, 2500 followers from another and 1500 worshipers from a third and this would give you different benefits then someone that accepts a different worlds/amounts. Of course you could mix and match as much as you want, you don't have to accept only on group of cultist, worshipers or followers. This will be a highly customizable system. Some benefits from worshipers/followers/cultists could be: lower tier >increase to the amount of fear or praise you gain on a world >increase to the amount of experience you gain >reduce the cost of vendor items >increase to the amount of credit from looting higher tier >the ability to use all weapons no mater what class you are >the ability to equip a another piece of gear in the same spot(another ring, a second necklace so on) >certain spells >increase to all damage >reduce to damage taken Another major change would be the complete removal of all casted spells(all instant casts) or the ability to cast well moving and all classes would be able to chain spells together to get different effects (like combo moves in hack and slash, button mashers games). This would increase the effectiveness of having skill, rather then having gear (which is a major draw of most fps games). There would be 3 titan factions (all at war with each other). Earth, Water, Fire. Some ideas for classes would be: Earth: Granite(Tank/Melee damage), able to take lots of damage and deal it at the same time. Dirt(Healing/Pet damage), has trees and animals living on/in it and has the ability to control these beings. Sand(Melee damage/Evasion tank), able to evade most attacks and use the opening created by evading these attacks to deal damage. Gravel(Ranged damage/Off tank), can attack at range, but is able to take lots of damage went forced to. Not as tough as Granite, but able to hold its own in most fights. Water: Coral(Tank/Area of effect damage), can take lots of damage and, do to the sharp edges of the coral, deals damage to attackers. Ice(Burst damage/Off tank), able to deal lots of burst damage, and take lots of damage for a short period. Must allow itself to refreeze during long fights Storm(Area of effect damage/Ranged damage), able to control the weather in small areas, can deal large amounts of area of effect damage. Ocean(Healer/Melee damage), able to replenish all water Titans and is able to enrage itself to deal massive damage. Fire: Lava(Tank/Damage over time), able to take large amounts of damage and able to deal large amounts of damage over time. Heat(healer/Area of effect damage), able to reheat all fire Titans and and control the temperature in areas enough to cause damage. Flame(Ranged damage over time), able to cause hideous burns and can ignite anything. Smoldering(Melee damage/Self healer), can consume anything to fuel itself and when needed it can enrage itself into an inferno to increase damage fore a short period. Of course that is just an idea for them. If you like the idea enough to make it (although it'll probable not happen) leave some contact info below and ill get a hold of you. Even if its just to give my name for the credits (something like that looks good in a resume). I also have a few concept drawing for the game laying around if anyone is interested to look at what i thought the world should look like.

The choice of "titan" may be unwise to begin with, as this suggests Greek mythology, in which as we know titans are, like the gods, immortal.

Demigods, while being much more powerful than ordinary people, are still only mortals, and mortals are delivered to the gods' capricious will. A man cannot stand against a god by definition, and a god will crush a man whenever he feels like it, which happens regularly.
It doesn't even take much for a god to get pissed enough to kill someone. Apollo destroyed a man because he could sing better than himself, and Zeus threw a lightning bolt at Asclepius (who was a demigod) because he was a successful healer, to give two examples.

Thus, the situation "soldiers against titan" and "demigod against titan" can only have one reasonable outcome, which will be the destruction of the mortals.

Whilst true, not everything has to be based 100% on existing mythology, and titan can be taken to mean anything. Besides which, being immortal would explain why, when killed, your character isn't lost forever. Perhaps the physical form is mortal, but powerful, and can be defeated, leading to it having to be resurrected by the titan's force of will, or some other process.

I like the premise of such a game, though making it into an MMO is probably extremely over ambitious. I'd go with a single player RPG, similar to black and white, I guess.
