For those of you starting out, or those of you working, as writers for the UK games industry, you might want to consider the Writer's Guild. Personally, I am not a member, so this is what I say consider. The reason I mention them is that I work with writers and so I have come across their guidelines for video game writers, which might help you work out how your contracts compare to 'recommended' standards.
