Who knows who owns the gaming rights to The Last Starfighter?

I found a good FAQ on GeoS*itties explaining that Atari had bought the license back in 95, and when Nolan and the gang left, Atari was bought by Warner Communications. Evidently Atari had paid $10E6, or was responsible for returning a dividend of $10E6 or something, which Warner may have resolved with Universal/Lorimar.
Even so... who knows where this can be secured from? Isn''t it time we dusted of the old classic?

Universal/Lorimar would be the best place to start. Most film licenses would be for a limited time and or on limited formats. The original Atari license will almost certainly have lapsed so the film company is free to sell it again.
Of course the original creators (writer and or director or production company) may have granted rights to Universal in the first place so they could have reverted all the way back to them. Even so the film company would still be the best bet as they would either own the rights or know who does.
Hmmmm just thought. Could be a third option. They may have sold the rights on to a new third party (such as a cheapo Sci-Fi video distribution company). Still the film company would once again know who this was.
