Hey guys, im creating a game in 8-bit. And I dont wanna say too.much about it. But im thinking of doing the cut-scenes in gravity a falls-ish cartoon style. Yay or nay? :D

Without more information it is hard to tell. Do cartoon cut-scenes pull the player out of the story, out from the magic circle, or do they naturally fit? Is it the style that matters? Without some more information, or a visual for the 8bit graphics and the cut-scenes, it could go either way. It is a fun cartoon, but personally I don't think it is the style alone that makes it good. It is the combination of everything.

Are you really that worried about someone stealing your idea? Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

As quoted in A Computer Science Reader : Selections from Abacus (1988) by Eric A. Weiss, p. 404

Just get the game done, and the cut-scenes, without spending too much time on them. Make sure the game is fun and the scenes are necessary before you try a perfect the style.
