I suppose this might be slightly against the rules of this forum and I apologize for this fact. However I have done some extensive research in this regard and I cant find a clear career path for a game designer. So once again, sorry.
I am a finance student(first red flag) who is pursuing his Indian equivalent of a CPA/ACCA.I expect to complete this course by April 2019 since I have to do a three year intern first.Dropping out of this course would be a complete no-no because my parents are pretty insistent and I would of course need their support if I were to continue my education abroad.
I am an excellent story teller with minimal programming experience(C++-School Level) who loves the idea of a job where you have to craft worlds characthers gameplay elements etc.
I have come to understand that a game designer is by no means an entry level role and one would require a degree proficiency in either art or programming to truly be successful.
So my questions are
1.What can I do/learn during my three years of internships to boost my chances of becoming a game designer
2.Should I be planning on taking an undergraduate degree. If so should it be a programming degree or one geared specifically towards game design.
