I can't give much insight, but I know it works. An MMO that I did a tiny bit of contracting on, used it. However, they used it for years of prototyping and actually rewrote the networking just before shipping! Nonetheless, it still worked fine for them. Their game was very slow-paced and didn't have much player<->player interaction though...
