[PAID] 2D Artist Wanted for hobby-level web game

I'm the programmer on a simple two-man indie project, working with my pal, the designer. We're each ten-year-plus industry vets who needed to work on something small and fun as a bit of a get-away from the corporate world for awhile.

The project is a small web game, simple to play and surprisingly (to me, anyway) fun. It's got that "one more round" type of feel to it. Best of all, I'm happy to say it's almost done! We are in Beta, which means all the game components are in, working, and tested. All we're doing now is polishing up and balancing gameplay, and getting the final art in. That's where you can help!

Right now we're using a mixture of free and stolen art, so that's bad. But it has let us develop the game to a point where the art can be swapped out up to the very last minute without any major hassle. That's good!

Off the top of my head, the art list is approximately:

25 character-face icons (64 x 64px)
30 town buildings (128 x 128px)
25 mixture of characters and environments pieces (120 x 120px)
2 big characters (400 x 700px)

I say this is a hobby-level game because there's no real chance to earn a profit, and we don't expect to ever recoup our expenses. We make game because we love to, and we want to mark this one as Done!

If you're interested in the position, please email me at artistneeded0123@yamagames.com (that email address is good for the next two weeks) and include the following:

  • A link to your portfolio
  • Your time zone (helps to coordinate communication)
  • An answer to the question: What is your favourite video game?

I thought advertising paid works is prohibited there.

I would amend this to say "Placeholder Assets"
