hello, new to the group. i have a strange question related to my developing game.

in Half Life 1, the characters textures, how they look. i am going for that style. the level of detail appeals to me. but how did they accomplish these textures back in the day?

they are very well done and id love to learn how they did this.

i knw its some form of texture painting but i havent found anything on their process. can anyone help?

It was a much simpler time back then.
Photographic perspective correction and simple UV project from view was the dominate go to.
Basically, everything was a real-life source texture stamp.
For this style, don't overthink it fren.
