"Last post" dates are screwed

I was just wondering why the "I feel evil" topic in the lounge was near the top, when it had been closed for a while. I looked at the last page, and the final reply was "Posted - 24 February 2002 3:18:33 PM". Yet, it is still visible as one of the top topics in the lounge, apparantly with the last post at "February 25, 2002 2:27:15 PM". I''m aware that editing a post changes the last-post date, but since this thread is closed, it isn''t edit-able. So, is the system screwed, or me?

Closed threads aren''t editable by anyone who doesn''t have moderator or staff status. And staff can edit posts without an "Edited by" message showing up.
Yep. I knew it would be something simple and I would end up making a twit out of myself.

I think that sums me up nicely.
